Gibson Island is an enchanting private island in the Chesapeake Bay within one hour of Washington, D.C., Annapolis and Baltimore. Located by Maryland's western shore, there is no Bay Bridge crossing; a manmade causeway connects the shore to the Island. Offering an absolutely extraordinary setting, the Island comprises two by three miles with seven miles of shoreline. Two thirds of the Island is undeveloped and is owned by the Gibson Island Corporation, the homeowners' association. The remaining third comprises about 200 plus residential home sites and a private country club.
